Comments Thread For: Bellew's Trainer: Andre Ward is Fantastic, But He's Beatable

David Coldwell, trainer for former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew (29-2-1, 19 KOs), is confident that his boxer will defeat Andre Ward (32-0, 16 KOs). Last month, Ward returned to the ring and stopped Sergey Kovalev in the eight round of their rematch at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. With the victory Ward retained the WBA, WBO, IBF light heavyweight titles.

'' but is it bigger than the Haye fight? '' Coldwell is a moron. Once again the pattern against American fighters is demonstrated by a UK hype-job : we always have to take a backseat to scrubs from Europe ; these cowards don't want to be great like S.O.G and Deontay Wilder.

Froch, Calazaghe, Hamed, AJ, Eubank, Benn were srubs? Oh and lets not forget Lewis who hammered Tyson and Holyfield. All scrubs?

That's what happens when you spend your career fighting bums in your hometown (wilder)

Or have an unappealing style to the mainstream (Ward) you'll take a backseat to guys who can sell out arenas and sell ppvs. Bellew isn't a hype job his limitations as a fighter are painfully obvious but he's a bigger name in his country than either Ward or wilder is and a proven money maker. As is david haye

And you know damn well wilder has shown nothing about wanting to be great apart from run his mouth. 38 fights and the biggest name on his record is stirverne? Come on.

Spot on, mate. Even Ward acknowledged he's not a big draw once during a fight he was commentating on when he said Rosado had a fan friendly style and that's why people come to see him fight. Wilder said he's willing to fight Briggs if Briggs passed a drug test, yet people are still giving this guy passes. He might be powerful, but he doesn't have a champion's heart. No way does he ever become a PPV star like AJ and Bellew with that sort of mentality.

Deontay Wilder has fought abroad more times than this hype-job Tony Bellend who only fought ONCE outside the dreary UK in Canada and got KO by a LH Adonis Stevenson , which goes to show how pitiful David Gay is that could not KO this bum a HW!

Yep typical Brit fanboy reply, ignorant and bias.
