The Pacquiao fight made us forget that they tried to rob Brian Castano on France.

This past Saturday, Brian Castano from Argentina beat Michael Soro in France by SD. I think even the French TV had Castano winning a UD. But it was a close 7-5 type of fight.

The thing is, that once the fight finished, something weird was happening in the judges table. They were not giving the official scorecards. They kept talking. They started re-writing scorecards, using calculators from a mobile phone, etc. People started to doubt about what was happening, it was a 10 minutes delay. They kept discussing something. What were they discussing? Castano's manager (also Maidana's manager) Sebastian Contursi got really close to the judges and didn't let them do anything wrong. The French TV filmed everything, didn't let anyone involved change any paper.

Finally the scorecards were given to the announcer after 10 minutes and the feeling was that they tried to fix the fight but the Castano team and TV french didn't let it happen.

After that, Castano was supposed to be drug tested by VADA according to what I read, and instead he was tested by some French organization that was not included in the contract.

The robbery attempt starts at 50:25

Thanks for posting this. Very interesting watch. You can tell the judges were sweating under all those eyes.

What's it gonna take to clean up the sport eh? Who knows. Maybe more eyes on the process as unfolds round by round would help.

One other note, english commentators got nothing on latin ones. They tell everything likes it's life or death. Teddy Atlas x 10.

Was that a legit robbery attempt doe? I understand boxing fans like to be dramatic, but I don't see how you commit a robbery here with the tools provided & I don't see how you eff up a robbery attempt if you got one planned.

I mean if I'm a judge & my score gets announced as something other then how I scored it I'm gonna be like "wtf bro I don't think so" & if I'm some corrupt guy trying to steal a fight I just hire two sketchy judges beforehand & have them give my guy at least 7 rounds so the job of the scorecard counter is just counting up my corrupt scorecard.

I mean the only thing I can think of happening here worse case is one of the judges was paid off & f#cked up & the scorecard counter knew of the pay off yet the math wasn't adding up so kept trying to come up with the 2 cards for Soro & couldn't find them.

Personally I just think the fight was mad close legitly (I scored it 6-6) & they wanted to make sure they got it right like is often a stress producing activity & maybe the only one scorecard counters have. But maybe I'm just kinda naive about open corruption in this situation idk.

To prevent mistakes, in boxing scorecards you have to sum the total points for each fighter after you score each round:

You say that you would be like WTF if your scorecard was read incorrectly, but that didn't happen at all in this case. They just delayed the deliver of the cards and were rewriting stuff with very su****ious body language, covering their faces. That didn't happen in any boxing match I've seen. Even if you find another example, what is it, 2% of the total?

LOL I know how it works.

Thats what I'm saying. I think it was just a tight fight & they wanted to make sure they got it correct & you got 80 year old men adding this sh^t up half the time who probably can't see for sh^t.

Idek wtf you are talking about in relation to what I said.

I'm saying I don't think anything foul happened except you got grandpa trying to figure out how much his waffles cost at breakfast & he's adamant about paying for his own meal.

I'm also saying it was a close fight so idk if there was even a "robbery" to be had here reallllllllly as either guy could've legit been given the decision.

I think as in any close fight they wanna check & re-check the cards to insure they don't look like a$$holes by announcing the wrong winner.
