  • Comments Thread For: Crawford Laments Lost Opportunity After Horn Upsets Pacquiao

Terence Crawford watched in shock Saturday night as his biggest potential payday all but went away. Before unknown Australian underdog Jeff Horn upset Manny Pacquiao in Brisbane, the undefeated Crawford at least held out hope that he would finally fight Pacquiao either later this year or early in 2018. That possibility became a lot less likely when Michael Buffer announced Horn had won his fight against Pacquiao on all three scorecards at Suncorp Stadium (117-111, 115-113, 115-113).

Terrence leave arum asap. Led you on for years promising to make the manny fight when he knows deep down he had no intention of doing that. Should move to haymons stable at least he'll have a ton of good match ups there. If he's not going to fight pac or even Bradley what's the point in staying with bob?

Fell sorry for TC! I know Bob has done a good job with TC thus far, but he should be trying to get TC a fight with a big name after Indongo! Hopefully TC beats Indongo, and then gets a shot at the Broner vs. Garcia winner@ 140, or a fight with Danny Garcia @ 147!

Crawford should fight Mikey Garcia and forget about Pacman.

Pretty sure it was Manny's camp who nixed the Crawford fight rather than Arum. And now we know why. Crawford would have humiliated the Pacquiao we saw this weekend

Crawford has plenty of time to make his own legacy, and being the first man since Jermain Taylor in 2005 to hold all four major world titles would be a great start

It sucks that he lost the payday, but Crawford is good enough to not have to feast on past their prime, former top dogs.

He can go after the young lions, and get to the same kind of paydays.

Arum screwed up and continued to milk Pac, when it was time for pac to be sent to the Crawford slaughter house. A Crawford win over Pac would have done wonders to get his name out there. You can't buy that kind of publicity.

Pac is going to spend the next year and a half in a trilogy with Jeff freaking Horn. Unreal man. So many wasted opportunities. Definitely feel sorry for Crawford and Mikey

TC is learning what Floyd, Cotto, and De La Hoya all had to figure out. TR plays favorites and puts certain fighters in position to be a star, while others are put in situations where the risk/reward payoff isn't justified. I won't even touch the match rigging that goes on.

He should've left when he had the chance. He'd likely be a two time WW champion already getting ready to fight Spence. Instead he'll move up to a division with Spence in his way toward divisional dominance and no identifiable large pay day in sight. Bad management from his team. He was done with 140 after Postol.

Now that we've seen how far Pac has fallen do we even need to see him against the likes of Crawford and Mikey? Seems pointless and Manny is probably too rich to agree to being someone else's sacrificial lamb. At least a Horn rematch is winnable

This won't happen. Not while TR has a contract with ESPN. He should've left TR to get those bigger fights. It was clear he wouldn't get Pacquiao. Now he's going to be underpaid for the next few years. And will he be stuck defending at 140 until the Pacquiao messed is settled?
