Comments Thread For: Joshua Buatsi Explosive With Knockout Win in Pro Debut

O2 Arena, London - Olympic bronze medallist Joshua Buatsi scores a second round technical knockout of Cuban-born Carlos Mena (4-6-0, 1KO) on his professional debut. Light heavyweight Buatsi claimed a medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and wasted little time in making his presence felt in the paid ranks. Londoner Buatsi, 24, hurt Mena with a left to the body in the opening seconds and followed up by sending him to the canvas with another hook later in the first round.

He looked really good. Definitely one to look out for the future.. Surprised how calm and composed he was for his debut.

Impressive punch selection. Seems composed and picked some lovely shots. Opponent wasnt very good but he was brave and he was kind of awkward in how he was winging wild shots while Buatsi was throwing his own combos.

If im being critical he doesnt seem to have corrected the lack of headmovement that was a big part of him losing his semi final in Rio. Something to look at for the future.

Good to see this show on the road. Seems an age since i saw him blitz that Rasulov in the Olympics
