Comments Thread For: Can Horn Do To Pacquiao What Leon Spinks Did To Ali in 1978?

Manny Pacquiao vs. Jeff Horn is starkly reminiscent of Muhammad Ali vs. Leon Spinks I in 1978 - an all-time great in the twilight of his career defending his title against an untested rookie. Spinks was 6-0-1 (5 KOs), a pro for less than two years after winning a gold medal at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, when he challenged a 36-year-old Ali (55-2, 37 KOs) for the most coveted prize in boxing. Horn (16-0-1, 11 KOs), a 2012 Olympian, faces 38-year-old Pacquiao (59-6-2, 38 KOs).

Difference here is Ali beat all these younger HOFs in the prime of their respective careers & gave each one their first loss unlike PAC caught the older HOFs fading in their careers. No comparison whatsoever. Let's get back to the Spinks Jinx...

You know what else is a "starkly reminiscent" of Ali vs Spinks?
          Pacman vs Brandon Rios
Pacman vs Chris Algieri (virtually unknown before they fought. Just like Horn)
          Pacman vs Vargas
          Pacman vs a weight-drained Oscar
          Pacman vs a weight-drained Cotto
          Pacman vs a weight-drained Margarito
Pacman vs Mosley (he had just lost to Floyd)
Pacman vs David Diaz (who is he again?

Seriously Peter Lin! WTF is wrong with you???
Horn is a joke just like Algieri was. What is wrong with you fan boys?
Why can't your idol fight a true WW. Pacman has practically and literally fought BUMS for the last 8 years and when he stepped up to fight legit guys (Marquez and Floyd) he got his ass handed to him.
You are an idiot but then your last name speaks volume about you.
