Comments Thread For: Carlos Negron Drops Derric Rossy Twice, Stops Him in Four

Carlos Negron was more suspect than prospect entering his 10 round bout against Derric Rossy Saturday night. Negron's knockout victory over Rossy might turn some heads. Negron dropped the heavyweight gatekeeper twice before the fight was stopped in round four at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky. With the win, Negron goes to 20-1, with 16 KOs. Rossy, who hails from Medford, N.Y., drops to 31-13, with 15 KOs.

Kentucky quietly is beginning a nice comeback as a boxing venue and not many have done what Negron did last night by putting Rossy down and out ...a nice win for the guy...

Puerto Rico represent, Carlos Negron is a really good boxer actually, he just wasn't active since his first loss, also a very tall guy with youth in his side... lets see how he fares with the A & Bs boxers...

How on God's green earth the mediocre talentless Rossy could ever be in a main event on TV is beyond comprehension. Yet he has been on TV many times. What is with the lame fascination of TV networks showing him??? Negron is more interesting and at least has a modicum of upside so I can see him being showcased but Rossy does not belong on my TV set or anyone else's!

Rossy's days as a gatekeeper ended in 2011 when it was clear he was not ever going to be anything but a journeyman.

As average as he is, he dropped and almost beat Stiverne.

Negron is big and has power, that goes a long way in the HW division. Apparently is signed on for 2 more fights with Holyfield. Put him in with someone like Cojanu or Dawejko next and if he comes thru, move him on to fringe contenders
