  • Comments Thread For: Roach: I Once Thought Golovkin Kills Canelo - Now It's Dead Even

Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach admits that for a long time he felt IBF, WBC, IBO, WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) would destroy Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs). The fight was in high demand for a very long time. Last month, it was finally finalized for September 16th, on HBO Pay-Per-View, from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

I think Roach changed ever since Mayweather Sr. took Freddie to a back room and dropped his pants to say," Now look here Freddie........................................... ..............………… this...............snake...................is what is great!!!!"

Canelo looked very good against Cotto even though Cotto is a great boxer. But Cotto was too small for Canelo.
Canelo looked very good against bigger guys like Chavez jr and Liam Smith, but they are not strong and they are not great like Cotto.

GGG is bigger and stronger than all opponents of Canelo. Canelo is in a big trouble.

I agree with Roach! It was 70-30 GGG, now after watching the Brook and Jacobs fight, I think it's a 50-50 fight! Father time is undefeated!
