Comments Thread For: Salido Has Agreed in Principle To Vasyl Lomachenko Rematch

A much talked about rematch between Vasyl Lomachenko (8-1, 6 KOs) and Orlando Siri' Salido (44-13-4, 31 KOs) could be close to fruition. Earlier tonight Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times tweeted that the Staples Center in California is on hold for August 5 with a view to hosting that bout.

Loma has to win , and salido is older than when he beat Loma .
Rigondeaux took donaire to school when donaire was considered the no 4 ppp and was the fighter of the year . On the contrary, salido beat Loma even though salido was not a top ten ppp .

Hope after this fight , if loma wins it , that Loma comes to 126 to face the king , rigondeaux.

I say , rigo beats Loma , will take him to school or will tko him . Riqindeaux has better defense and better power . But , salido did already.....

Hit and not be hit ; can not hit what you don't see .

If he can't beat this version of Salido at this point in Siri's career than I honestly wouldn't know what to make of it. I think Loma stops him easily this go round

What Salido lack in ability, he makes up for it with his will. Name another active world class fighter in his 20th year as a pro?

With that said, I can't see Salido making it to the end of this one. Loma in 5.

Nah loma has the best footwork in the sport of boxing. Rigo can slip punches with ducking and weaving better then anyone else. I feel Rigo MIGHT have a very slight edge in power but on paper it's a 60-40 match. Loma would win rounds just by being more active.

Eh. Ever since they teased the possibility of Loma-Rigondeaux on saturday, this doesn't really do it for me. Still, Salido got an unfair close victory over Lomachenko in his second fight, so for a fighter of Lomachenko's caliber, every defeat should be avenged if possible, or at least try to.

So this is a nice fight to get over with on paper, for posterity's sake, but afterwards I hope they move to better fights in the ring, like Rigondeaux.

Even at this point in his career, Salido would rather be in an all out war with another brawling style fighter, where he would likely take a lot of damage but has the chance to win instead of rematch Lomachenko where he has the likelihood of getting schooled and dominated. Still, props to Siri if he goes through with the rematch. He has to be dirty to have a chance this time but I don't know if he'll be able to get away with it.

                    Pacquiao.

And Lomachenko almost knocked out Salido last time they fought after getting hit in the nuts for 11 rounds. So I agree, Salido wont make it to the end this time.
