  • Comments Thread For: Tyron Zeuge Will Pass on WBSS Tournament, To Rematch Ekpo

WBA regular super middleweight champ Tyron Zeuge, who retained the title this past weekend with a clear points win over Paul Smith, will not take part in the World Boxing Super Series tournament, writes BILD. Instead Zeuge will go through with his mandatory defense against Isaac Ekpo.

Ridiculous. WBA orders the fight to eliminate the Super belts, which would allow Zeuge to enter the tournament, and then orders him to rematch Ekpo and allows him to fight Fat Paul 'Smigga' Smig a man who hasn't won a fight at 168 in 3 years or against an opponent above British title level in his entire life, preventing him from entering the tournament.

fighting groves wokldnt bena unification bout. unification means u hold more than onenworld title, and the WBA regular beltholder is not the WBA world champion.

Scared to lose so he wont enter that tournament. Guy is young so I dont blame him, needs to improve a lot because right now he is a paper champion.

He's gonna hold that belt hostage fighting mediocre opponents for as long as he possibly can

Zeuge is a classic Germany-based Sauerland paper belt holder, like Braehmer. Sauerland is not going to risk their ability to milk his fake belt by having him fight a legitimate opponent. Maybe they can set up a rematch with Paul Smith

Thats kinda weak. He seems like a guy with nothing to lose & everything to gain by entering that tournament. Well I mean he could lose the belt, but he should be paid well for it & its not like belts are all that hard to get these days so not like he can't win another one.

Hes not even the real champion anyway.

He's just the WBA "regular" champ.
