Comments Thread For: Malignaggi Gives Detailed Breakdown of Mayweather-McGregor

Former two division world champion and Showtime analyst Paulie Malignaggi has long cautioned that UFC superstar Conor McGregor would be taking a very dangerous risk by entering the world of boxing with his first fight coming against five division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. The fight was being mentioned for months, and nobody thought it would happen - but shockingly it was finalized on Wednesday with Mayweather reaching a deal to face McGregor on August 26th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

That's what I think will happen. McGregor will come out guns blazing and get punched out by the third round.

Conor is undefeated. This is a huge challenge for Floyd.

This match is a circus act!! Two different sports ! Boxing has way more depth when it comes to world class athletes and now folks thinks a guy like Connor is going to fight and beat one of the best defensive boxers who ever fought!! Not going to happen. I also don't think Mayweather will carry McGregor for to many rounds before he knocks him out. Mayweather knows McGregor's only chance is to get lucky with a punch. I expect McGregor to look like the amateur he is , look foolish for a few rounds then over extend out of frustration then wake up in his dressing room. He'll then retire, count his money and laugh at all the suckers who paid to see the fight.

McGregor will gassed up on second round and will run after that round by round like he did on Diaz rematch.

Conor will try to make this an inside attack, but he will either get countered, swing at air, or the ref will push him back. To put this in context--Paulie would knock him out in three rounds.
