Comments Thread For: Guerrero Motivated to Shed Steppingstone, Gatekeeper Labels

Robert Guerrero realizes most boxing fans think he is finished at the championship level. The 34-year-old Guerrero is 2-4 in his past four fights and is 4 years removed from owning a version of a welterweight title. Three of those four defeats came against Floyd Mayweather Jr., Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia, but the fourth and most recent loss was the most damaging to Guerrero's reputation.

He's a warrior but he needs to face it, he is a stepping stone. Having his name on young fighters or contenders resume is great. I would love to see Rios vs Guerrero, that would be a hell of a fight.

Still some fight s out there for "The Ghost"...
He will put a huge beating on Figueroa and hopefully a Rios fight is next.

The other 2 fights on the card r much more intriguing and significant than a main event btwn a "b" level young fighter and way past his prime former champ.

I hope Omar is back in form! Really like the kid, and never seen him in a boring fight! This should be a Vargas-Salido type of fight!

If he wants to avoid that label he needs to stop fighting because that's what he is and with a long layoff that Figueroa has had because of his hands and other factors he's looking at another
loss .Roberto gave us some Thrills let's remember him as that not him being knocked out by some nobody.

Omar was good at 136, not so good at 140. Robert seems to be the naturally bigger man. I don't see Omar out boxing Robert as much as I see Robert lumping him up.

He had a fine career at the tail end for sure and may win some fights still but gatekeeper for sure

If the Ghost punch resistance is still there he will trouble Figueroa. You cannot get tired with a guy like Guerrero
