Comments Thread For: Matt Korobov Determined to Enter 'World Boxing Super Series'

Matt Korobov has informed BoxingScene.com that he is determined to secure a spot in the "World Boxing Super Series" super middleweight tournament, recently announced by Sauerland Event and RingStar Sports. "I know I am the best fighter in the world between 160 and 168," Korobov said, "and this tournament will give me the opportunity to prove it."

He's left Bob then? I don't see why he shouldn't be included but I'd expect the 168 class to be dominated by Haymon and Sauerland fighters. Korobov just ain't really relevant even if he is technically a very well schooled fighter. Besides the guy looks stiff as a board compared to his amateur days and always seems a little gunshy - which ain't surprising since he seems in imminent danger of being knocked out every time he opens up.

Yes you have great amateur career and experience but not the best fighter between 160-168! If you fight, i want to watch it.

I think Korobov could be a sleeper. He has a point - I don't think most people expected Ward to win the Super-Six.

I don't know how well he'll do at super middle. The guy has been written off since losing to Andy Lee.

Nothing wrong with him being in the tournament a straight-ahead fighter Fair defense, good chin but he lacks the overall skills to be an elite..

Korobov would be a solid guy to have in the tournament, I would be OK with this
