  • Comments Thread For: Erik Skoglund Drops To 168 - Targets DeGale, Groves, Kessler

Swedish light heavyweight Erik Skoglund (26-0, 12 KOs) is targeting the division's top names as he makes the move down to super middleweight. Skoglund is currently ranked with all the major governing bodies at 175lbs (IBF #4, WBO #5, WBC #10 and WBA #11), but frustrated by a lack of opportunities, and following talks with his promoter Nisse Sauerland, the 26 year-old has decided to drop down to 168lbs.

I was drinking some milk, now I got to clean my computer screen

      26 fights and 12 KO's

I'm confused everyone now thinks that Degale is easy pickings because of his fight with Jack, but don't understand that Jack left the division and Degale can probably beat any other SMW. Groves, Ramirez, Eubank and even Benavidez will beat the **** out this guy. He lost to a old and expired Glen Johnson but got a ridiculous gift decision, he cant punch, his boxing is mediocre from what I seen and most importantly his level of competition has been terrible, to fight the guys he has been fighting then jump onto the actual good fighters doesn't work out the way he thinks in his head, he isn't talented enough. Also did I say he bleeds easily?

Only thing I give him props for is his heart. When he herniated his disc in his back in the Johnson fight he kept on fighting and thats what champs do. Other than that he is a good tune up fight for other champions.

Degale also struggled with Porky Medina. The guy who's face just got combo'd up on by Benavidez....

You're confusing Erik Skoglund with Enrico Koelling, another feather fisted European LHW.

But yes, nobody wants to trade gloves with Beterbiev.

Skoglund actually passed on an IBF Mando fight opportunity... Koelling passed the 1st time and then accepted for the End of July fight against Beterbiev... Beterbiev might actually make Koelling leave boxing all together ...

He might be best targeting EBU titlist Muhammadidi (spelling).

no im not, you seem to be confused.

the IBF arranged Beterbiev v Skoglund for a title eliminator.
Skoglund rejected, and ran a mile to another division...

Skoglund is a decent fighter but he's not top level material. Not at 175 nor at 168
