Comments Thread For: Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor: That's Boxing

By Tris Dixon - SOMETHINGS in life just do not make sense. The same applies in boxing. The same applies in business. Yet sometimes things that do not make sense are the most obvious and necessary. Floyd Mayweather might well fight UFC star Conor McGregor in an oddity of a boxing match; a future International Boxing Hall of Fame first-ballot shoe-in against an Irishman who lost three fights ago and might struggle to win a domestic title in the Noble Art, let alone a world crown...

Plenty of other fighters have gone undefeated past 49 fights. I don't get why it's made such a big deal just for mayweather

That's only going to be worthwhile if enough people are caught on record making it seem and sound like McGregor will have a chance "in the early going" or "if he catches Mayweather.." blah blah blah. Those are the dummies that will need exposing because this fight will not at any point be competitive. Not for a moment. Boxing is a sport about distance control. Controlling distance.

Within 10-15 seconds everyone watching is going to understand. Good hands, against Mayweather, don't mean a thing.

                  It must be the money...

Regardless of the competitive dynamic of the fight, it'll be one of the biggest spectacles in sports history...I'll be watching for that reason alone

The reason for loving this fight, is to show the difference between a MMA fighters boxing skill vs a professional boxer's boxing skill. If youre the best at something and someone tells you that they can beat you at what you do best, you are gonna say BOOOOOOOLsh|t, and you can pick up 100million+........throw in the fact, that its a "loud mouthed" white guy fighting a "loud mouthed" black guy.
