People are saying Mike Trout may be the best baseball player ever but.....

...if he walked past me on the street I wouldn't know who this guy was. In baseball if you aren't playing for the Yankees, Mets, Cubs, Dodgers, or Red Sox, the casual baseball fan won't recognize you. Basketball & Baseball are the two sports that doesn't cover their players faces. Basketball players are easily recognizable, why aren't baseball players? This is Mike Trout

There was a late night segment a few years back where they had Matt Harvey going around NYC asking Mets fans what they thought of Matt Harvey. Nobody recognized him.

I am not even familiar with the name but I wouldn't recognise any of the current football or basketball players (whose names I've heard) if I met them. I just don't watch ball sports. I met Jeter once, and had no idea who he was until my friend asked me if Jeter was cool. After that, I was like, "Oh, I guess I have heard of him. What sport does he play?"

                Lol baseball.

Basketball players are more recognized cause basketball is more liked worldwide. Also they're danm near 7 feet tall. Not exactly common height or short
