A rapid rise up the welterweight division will be at stake as two top contenders -- former Olympian Sadam "World Kid" Ali (24-1, 14 KOs) and former Interim WBA World Super Lightweight Champion Johan "El Terrible" Perez (22-3-4, 15 KOs) - will slug it out over 10 rounds for the vacant NABA Welterweight title in the main event of Golden Boy Boxing on ESPN on July 29 from Casino Del Sol in Tucson, Arizona.

Sadam Ali has all the skills and athleticism but it's his chin that's suspect. He can dominate a fight but always seems one shot away from going to sleep and it finally caught up with him in the Vargas fight. This his first real fight since that knockout. So let's see what he looks like. If he loses he's gatekeeper status. If he wins and is impressive likely getting another title shot. But I don't see him beating any of the belt holders. Needs to seriously improve that defense.

If you combine Ali and Malignaggi into one fighter they'd make a complete fighter. This fight sounds like something out of Fight Night. "World Kid slips the punch and counters El Terrible"

Unfortunately he has been asking the public to pay for terrible mismatches on PPV. Some of the ESPN fights have been mismatches as well and some competitive. So nothing new there.
