  • Comments Thread For: Lennox Lewis Stresses: Anthony Joshua Must Fight in America

Former undisputed world champion Lennox Lewis has continued to stress that Anthony Joshua must make a name for himself in the United States - and other parts of the world. In April, Joshua secured the first defining win of his pro career when he stopped former division ruler Wladimir Klitschko in eleven rounds to unify the IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight titles. Their showdown brought in a record crowd of 90,000 fans to Wembley in London.

Absolutely, make the Joshua-Klitschko 2 rematch somewhere in the United States like Las Vegas or New York.

It will be a bigger event if they fight in the U.S.

Totally agree. We've seen that fight in the UK, would be much better for it to happen in the US next. Ideally Madison Square Garden as the time difference for UK fans would be manageable.

it does matter,,,,a champion who only fights at home is highly suspect ..dont care who he fights

          British fighters who fought abroad:

          Lennox Lewis
          Hatton
          Hamed
          Calazaghe (eventually)
          Khan
          Fury

          what makes AJ so special?

I agree I need an excuse to go for a holiday to the US. If they fight in Vegas or New York I'll be coming over as will thousands of other brits. I hope its not in Nigeria or Dubai as British fans aren't likey to travel there.

The fact he can sell out a 90k seat stadium and sell 1mil plus ppvs in only 19 fights. He's the man right now people should come to him. Bar fury, all of those fighters went abroad because that's what've because that's what generated the most money. AJ isn't in that situation.

I'm sure he will fight in American when he's good and ready and as the shot caller that's how it should be. Floyd only fought in America because he could aj can be in that same boat should he choose to be

Actually it would be quite good if one of his future fights is in Africa, providing he gets past Kiltschko! It will be like the Rumble in the Jungle, Femi Joshua going back home to the Mother Land (Cradle of civilization! haha)...

Make it into a massive carnival!

America needs to see him fight in person, it would be a good way for them to realize that a skillful heavyweight is on top of the world again...that the boring era of robotic jab jab grab is finished.
