Comments Thread For: Sanchez : Golovkin Will Wear Down Canelo Like He Did Brook

Abel Sanchez, trainer of IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs), says his team is not paying any attention to Floyd Mayweather's dominating win over Saul "Canelo" Alvarez from September 2013. Mayweather cruised to a one-sided decision win over Canelo, at a catch-weight of 152-pounds, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Canelo is set to challenge Golovkin for his titles on September 16th, as part of Mexican Independence Day weekened, on HBO Pay-Per-View.

canelo carries no power, isnt hard to hit and is the smaller man so the brook comparisons are appropriate. once people start to get this into their heads its pretty clear whats going to happen....

Body work and he might have a chance to wear Canelo down, right now Canelo is younger, more focus, more confident, and has better experience than before. He even avoid punches like a young James Toney nowadays. Canelo takes this.

Will he take those crazy uppercuts like he did against Brook too?

Canelo carries no power? Tell that to James Kirkland.

                  Non-conformist

I can see this fight ending in 6 or less. Alvarez doesn't have the ability to move the way Brook or Jacobs did. He will either have to clinch or fire back. If he clinches it could be a dull fight. I don't see him doing this for long. I see him firing back and I don't see him coming out on top, or even upright if he does this. GGG is being sold way short by some. Lemieux is a damn impressive fighter with way more power than Canelo and we know how that turned out. Canelo is going to be discouraged, hurt and held off balance by GGG's jab, and that will open up all kinds of chances with him being a stationary target. Sorry....
