Comments Thread For: Alexander vs. Collazo in Play For Potential Garcia-Broner Card

Earlier this week, BoxingScene.com's Keith Idec reported that a deal is being worked on for a fight between undefeated WBC lightweight champion Mikey Garcia and former four division champion Adrien Broner - which would take place at a catch-weight. The fight is being discussed for July 29 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Only thing I like about this fight is that Broner will have to lose weight...

Broner should be at 140 full time, as he can't cut it at 147 - he's too slow and his body isn't meant for the weight.

After Crawford leaves 140 - Broner could possibly be top dog in that division if he gets back to making Boxing the priority in his life.

I've been waiting for Alexander to get back in the ring. He was one of my favorite fighters. Wonder why he's not getting more of a tune up after almost two years out of the ring. Tough test with Collazo

Me too. That's weird that he stayed out that long. Follow him on IG he was still training. Didn't seem to have any legal issues or promotion disputes. He must have some businesses and property in STL. How do you not work for two years?

Nice crossroads fight. Alexander should win this he is younger and more talented. But Collazo is the cat with 9 lives every time you think he is done he scores an upset win to put him in position for another big fight. Whoever wins this will get fed to a big name and lose badly. Loser might retire.

He did an interview not too long ago saying he had some demons to deal with. If I remember correctly it was a pain killer addiction that started before the Martinez loss.

Collazo just came off a solid win against a good contender he needs to take a step up not a step down Alexander is inactive and washed up,, Collazo should get the knockout

Does every fight have to be between two undefeated champions in order to be entertaining? By your standards the Gatti/Ward fights would have been meaningless and thus not worth watching. After all, Ward alone had 11 losses to his name when they first fought.
