Comments Thread For: Joshua-Klitschko II: There Will Be HBO, Showtime Collaberation

Sheffield - Last month, network rivals HBO and Showtime came together on a television deal to broadcast the highly anticipated heavyweight fight between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko. The network were forced to work with each other for only the third time in history, because Joshua is under contract with Showtime and Klitschko has an exclusive deal with HBO.

Why was a guy who was the B side, coming off a loss, 17 months of inactivity, and no belts given a mandatory rematch clause in the first place against the reining champion??? What kind of leverage did Klitschko have if Joshua told him to kick rocks on the rematch clause?

If Joshua wants to fight a 41 year old he knocked out already that's on him, but if the WBA doesn't strip him for not fighting his mandatory King Kong Ortiz they lose all credibility.

Klitschko probably made more money with his TV deals than Joshua did. Joshua was also not a clear-cut B-side. Klitschko didn't have to fight him, he could have fought anyone and sold out any stadium in Germany.

Hey, did your copy editor knock off early for the weekend? It's spelled "collaboration" not "collaberation".

HBO better try to get into the Joshua business ASAP. That guy is the future of this sport.

AJ glass chin and would have been KOëd in 1 against young Wladimir.
