  • Comments Thread For: Joshua: Klitschko Should Leave on Positive Note, Forget Rematch

IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (19-0, 19 KOs) is hanging back and waiting to get a clearer picture about the next step in his career. Back in April, Joshua secured the biggest win of his career with an eleventh round stoppage of former division ruler Wladimir Klitschko. The bout drew a record crowd of 90,000 fans at Wembley in London.

I think that last fight was too close retire. He dropped the young man, and the stoppage was a little quick (punches weren't landing). I doubt he can beat Joshua, but he looked too good not to try! I would fight AJ again, and declare: win, lose, or draw, this is my last fight!

AJ is right, he should retire. Father Time will be even more evident come this fall plus AJ has already learned HOW to beat Klitschko so it should be a tad easier this time. And does Wladimir really want to end his career on three loses in a row? He climbed a mountaintop for this last fight and I doubt that the motivation will be the same for the rematch. It's time to let the young guns take over the game because hinsetly, i forsee him getting KOed WAAAAY worse the next time around...

Klitchko should actually try and swindle a Wilder fight ...TRY is the key word if he becomes mandatory at #2 now under WBC ( I know team Wilder will put 5 voluntary fights in front of him. lol )

If Joshua jumps on Klitchko ,it wont make it past the 4th rnd . Style wise Joshua has him and now knowing how to go about it and fixing a few things , Klitchko wont have a more patient Joshua . He will have a Joshua who knows he could get him out quicker .

Wilder is not a seek and destroy guy like Joshua , Klitchko could win that fight .

Great fight by klitschko but Joshua still stopped him after putting him down 3 times

In a rematch Joshua will only get better, that was a huge step up in class and he learned as the fight went on

Klitschko probably can't reach that peak again, let alone go past it.

I predict a quicker more brutal stoppage in a rematch

Unfortunately, the WBC has Stiverne as Wilder's mando. He can only get out of that by fighting for another belt (Parker). The person who loses out the most is Luis Ortiz. It seems that AJ is going to fight Pulev...WTF?
