France's Hassan N'Dam won a controversial split decision over Japan's Ryota Murata to capture the vacant WBA middleweight title on Saturday. Murata, the 2012 Olympic gold medallist, appeared to dominate the fight in Tokyo, flooring the interim champ in the fourth round and wobbling him on several more occasions.

Murata didn't cut off the ring effectively and took a couple of rounds off, but still did enough to win.
He's a plodder but he can ****. He was moving N'Dan every time he landed a good punch.
If the WBA had the rule where a boxer is considered down if he would have fallen except for the robes, N'Dan would have been down 3X instead of 1.

Shocking. Murata will dust himself off and come again, dude is a talent and age is on his side. I'd hoped this would be a coming out party and it was, Murata has announced himself on the world stage.
