  • Comments Thread For: Malignaggi: Mayweather-McGregor May Break May-Pac Record

Former two division champion and Showtime Boxing expert analyst Paulie Malaignaggi views Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor as "a joke." He gives McGregor no chance of beating Mayweather in a boxing match. That said, Malignaggi believes the potential fight would do tremendous business on pay-per-view and feels the fight would have a strong chance to crack the PPV buyrate record set in 2015 by Mayweather's mega-fight with Manny Pacquiao - which generated 4.6 million purchases.

It would be crazy if this circus side show fight broke the May-Pac record.

I seriously doubt it. But you never know.

Agree with Paulie. Fight is a bs fight that if its a failure will only be the 2nd biggest PPV fight of all time.

Absolutely 0 chance this fight breaks the Mayweather-Pacquiao PPV sales record; ironically, because of Mayweather's lackluster performance in the fight. But it will be a clear 2nd.

Doubt it, it will do half though.

McGregor is the biggest UFC star in their history and does 1.3-1.5 mill easily. Floyd is the biggest PPV seller in Boxing PPV history so the fight will sell. People saying no one's gonna buy it or no one wants to see it must be talking relative to their household or social group because a lot of people will buy/see this fight. If not buy it, they WILL see it through free illegal streams.

If they set the card up as some type of MMA vs Boxing thing i really wouldnt be surprised if it did similar numbers to May-Pac.
