NAGOYA, JAPAN - The fight lived up to the hype, as WBO light flyweight world champion Kosei Tanaka won a twelve round unanimous decision over mandatory challenger and power puncher Angel 'Tito' Acosta at the Ocean Arena in Nagoya, Japan. The scores were 117-110, 117-110, 116-111. Acosta was down in the fifth round. Tanaka - already a two division world champion - raised his record to 9-0 with 5KO's. Acosta, who previously stopped all of his opponents, suffered his first career defeat and fell to 16-1 with 16KO's.

Much closer fight than the cards show. Lots of close rounds. Either one could've won. Tanaka refused to make the fight outside of Japan with good reason. I don't think he can beat Acosta in the US without Acosta having to take that long trip to Japan. Acosta should've been in Japan weeks ago to get acclimated.
