I was wondering what happened to the $50M tournament. The money should attract at least B/B+ fighters, especially if any of the championship fights pay more than $1M. Not many fighters outside of the elite would turn that down.

I looked at ALL the boxers who can apply for the 16 spots in this tournament a couple weeks back & all told in the two divisions there were only 74 guys who can apply. Whats heavy interest when only 74 cats can even apply for 16 spots?

With the perimeters of this tournament idk how you do 175. They got $25M per division, with the winner walking away with about $10M.

Ward, Kovalev & Stevenson all would have to agree to a paycut or risk a paycut for fighting other top guys in this tournament vs outside of this tournament to make a 175 tournament not B level & therefore meaningful.

You can only do this in a division where the biggest top names aren't included, & whats the point if you can't include the biggest top names in a division or the top guys in the division are making less then $10M for 3 fights & ideally its not even debatable that that's the case like you can for some guys.

For example you could never do this at 160 either cuz Canelo is probably making more in 1 fight than he'd make in 3 fights in this tournament.

Also can boxing fans quit complaining about anything even kinda good that happens all the damn time. Jesus, Allah & Zemu could shine the light of their ass on boxing & make the sport better in every way & some of you guys would b^tch about it. "Oh the top two guys are fighting in every division on one card in September in Vegas.....that sucks, I bet the card is gonna be too long + it'd be better in November in MSG cuz.......blah f#cking blah".

Well I'm just saying only 74 can even apply so how "heavy" can it reallllllly be? Its 74 guys.

And actually now that I think of it its 16 guys in the tournament + 16 subs they have mentioned wanting to fight on the cards to iirc. So they got 32 openings & 74 max guys who can even apply.

And ultimately this tournament is interesting or not based on who those 8 guys are in each division. So if 168 gets the bottom 30 guys loving the idea of this tournament & applying while the top 8 are saying nah heavy interest isn't gonna help them out at all.

The appeal is the names not the number of guys.
