Comments Thread For: Diaz: Peterson Didn't Beat Me; the Judges Weren't on My Side

Felix Diaz's record reads 19-1, but the 140-pound contender feels undefeated. The Dominican Republic's Diaz disputes the majority decision he dropped to Lamont Peterson in their 12-round fight 19 months ago in Fairfax, ******ia. Peterson won that bout on two scorecards (117-111, 116-112) and a third judge scored it even (114-114).

first off i had peterson winning 8 or 9 rounds the last time i watched it

i came to the conclusion that diaz is tricky, but hittable, and hittable HARD..he's the perfect style to cry robbery..no disrespect to him i love how he wants crawford and how crawford wants him..IT'S THE FIGHT OF THE WEEKEND..but back to his style..he doesnt **** on any punches..he bascially punches to be able to move..and some times he's punching while his direction is being changed...WAT I MEAN IS HE ISNT HURT ANYONE..but in the peterson fight u could see the shots moving him..snapping his head...i dont know how TC will deal with him, but im interested to see

i think a lot of casuals think that felix's style is just something that is just too good in boxing, but they dont understand getting pop on shots..

Peterson struggled but the fight was close. The wide margins made it seem like a robbery but it was a close fight. Peterson's style will always struggle with someone like Diaz. Crawford is much more versatile. He should be able to figure out Diaz.

Peterson landed a lot of clean uppercuts if I remember correctly so i guess you can say the cleaner punches came from Peterson BUT again if I remember correctly Diaz landed a lot around Petersons high guard which I dont think impressed the judges to much.

u have to be more creative than landing around the high guard..that speaks to generalship...and another loss for generalship was him moving way too much..at times it was flat out running bc peterson had landed something huge on him...
he's a good fighter but until he sits on punches i can see PROS tearing him a new one and his body telling him the truth the next morning

peteron's jab was harder, his body shots were hard, hooks and uppercuts...meanwhile diaz just floated along the ring never planting his feet and throwing arm punches.

It was close, but the perception of robbery mostly lies in a guy nobody knew looking good and giving Peterson a difficult fight.

He won't need to worry about the judges Vs. Crawford doe...
(Diaz will quit on his stool or be stopped mid rds.)
