  • Comments Thread For: Felix Diaz: I Have The Experience To Beat Terence Crawford

By Thomas Gerbasi - When most of the kids in Santo Domingo were turning double plays, hoping for a shot at the major leagues, Felix Diaz was turning over his punches in the gym, learning the craft that would lead him to an Olympic gold medal in 2008. It has also put him on the doorstep of a world title should he defeat WBC / WBO junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford this Saturday at Madison Square Garden...

I like Diaz, i think there's a lot of guys he beats at 140, and/or is competitive with.
He's a high risk, low reward kind of fighter for me.

I think he will have his moments in this one, but i expect Crawford to pull away on the cards. As Crawford is on a level all of his own in the division.

Felix is very good and will make bug Bud , which is what it's all... but I go with Crawford to win a UD... he will have a big advantage in both height and reach and that should begin to tell as the fight wears on... Anxious to watch this... if Crawford looks 2 good he can forget about Pac..

Diaz is a good fighter. He doesn't have the skills to beat Crawford, but he isn't the bum of the month Arum normally feeds his fighters. Diaz should be undefeated too, that should be mentioned. Honestly, one of the best HBO fights in a while.

Man, you're not the only one! There are still a ton of tickets available on TM as well as SH (In retrospect I should've waited until now to buy mine). Not sure why there wasn't much word about it. Diaz is a former Gold Medalist from DR (Which is well represented in NYC demographics), Shakur Stevenson from NJ is on one of the undercard bouts and for local sports fans in general, the Yankees are away this weekend. It seems like more could've been done to get people to the gate! Oh well, I'm looking forward to going!!!

This is my first post. However, I've enjoyed reading these posts for years!

For me this fight should answer a lot of of questions about Bud especially in being touted as "heads and shoulders" above anyone in this division.

If he passes the Diaz test with flying colors then i will grant him that until then he is just a very good fighter to me.

Diaz is good. Diaz is no pushover. Diaz is AMBITIOUS. Diaz sees this as his meal ticket to stardom. Diaz has wanted this opportunity and fancies his chances.

Cant wait to see how this plays out.

Once again I hope it does not end controversially...in favor of the house fighter.
