Comments Thread For: Alexander Povetkin's Next Opponent Nearly Locked in For July 1

Olympic gold medal winner Alexander Povetkin (30-1, 22 KOs) is moving forward with his planned return on July 1 in Moscow. Povetkin is under suspension by the World Boxing Council for failing a pre-fight drug test in connection to last December's planned WBC final eliminator with Bermane Stiverne. After the positive test was revealed, the WBC withdrew their sanction of the fight and Stiverne left Russia to head home.

Fawk you Ryabinsky! this mockery to the sport would not be televised in America, if one of our HW had been suspended ; unlike Russia and the UK American athletic institutions operate under law and integrity! U.S.A!!!

Completely forgot about Povetkin. Even guys like Brazeale, Whyte are getting more coverage than him, lol.

So let's see, who wouldn't mind going to Russia for a pay day against a guy they know will be juiced to the gills? I'm saying Erkan Teper, Odlanier Solis or Guillermo Jones

Povetkin and Fluff Furry and his inbred cousin should all face each other in a mini tournament, keep all the PED cheats together.

Brilliant! they should start a PED league in unsanctioned Russia ; no doubt Ryabinsky has the backers and networks to broadcast these fights with the traveling amusement show known as the Fury's considering he and Pedvetkin nearly got Dahuapas killed on Russian TV.

Lucas Brown would be a great matchup. Brown was willing to fight in the ****** sewer Chechnya, Moscow should be no problem.

That's actually a pretty decent idea, especially since both Povetkin and Brown have a history of testing positive for PEDs.
