Comments Thread For: Gervonta Davis: I'm On A Whole Different Level Than Liam Walsh

When asked why he thinks he'll beat Liam Walsh, Gervonta Davis didn't search for some diplomatic response. The unbeaten Baltimore native was blunt. "To be completely honest, I'm just on a whole different level," Davis said during a conference call Wednesday. "Not to write Liam Walsh off. Oh, he's a British fighter,' but I'm on a whole different level right now."

Is this gonna be like Lacy vs. Calzaghe all over again? Sensing a huge upset coming.

It will be a great month for Americans. First Davis wins then Spence.

He's on a whole other level, but he's fooling himself if he phones it in & still expects to win. Just cuz you are an another level don't mean you can slack at this level. Don't think he will, just saying.

Hopefully Floyd isn't in his corner or yelling at him during the fight or anything like that. Been seeing Floyd all up his ass while training for this fight which I don't like. Floyd you the man, but either hold some f#cking pads or quit breathing down the kids throat.

These sorry ass people and their fixation with Jeff Lacey

That was not a huge upset.

Floyd sees nothing but $$$$ and is trying to protect that.

            Thirsty af.

Idk if he's greedy or that's just his personality is the ting. They actually seem to have a solid friendly team environment & situation at Mayweather's gym & under his promotional banner. I just think in general I elite level fighters tend to be not so elite level trainers. Its kinda like a version of if your dad is a great fighter you aren't likely to be one, Chavez Jr type, thing.

He should just let Tank's people do what they've been doing. If he sees something & wants to throw a lil something to them that thy can use or pass on fair enough, but there is too much micromanaging going on with Floyd in retirement with Tank.

Promote or train. Pick your poison Floyd my brother. If you pick promote, then just be your fighters buddy (like Oscar seems to do really well) & leave the trainers to do their job.

I don't keep up with them like you seem to so I can't comment too much on it.

But I agree with what you said about Oscar. They had a little piece on Canelo once before one of his fights (forgot which one) and Oscar paid him a visit. It was when they were eating meat from the grill and stuff. Idk if you remember that. I didn't see Oscar getting in the way and instead just gave some tips here and there. If I remember correctly anyway.

I like Walsh, i think he's a good little fighter. But not on the level of Davis. I think Davis stops him in the 2nd half of the fight.

Floyd isn't your everyday manager. He has millions and millions and millions... manager's cut means squat to him. Like a horse owner trying to win the Kentucky Derby, not living off the profits. Whole different set of motivations. Ruthless, I got mine, sink or swim attitude.
