  • Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr. Promises To Live Up To His Potential in Canelo Bout

By Thomas Gerbasi - The shoes were always going to be too big to fill. Maybe Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. knew it from the start, but if he didn't, the rest of the boxing world certainly knew that he was never going to be his father. "Nobody has even filled his shoes and we're talking about a lot of great Mexican fighters that have come along in the last 20 years...

The question about this fight is all about how much drained Chavez will be after the weight in. If he will redreid himself like the other fight with this kind of preparation behind him Canelo will be in trouble. Mark my words Chavez Jr is going to put a kind of pressure that Canelo never felt inside the Ring, Chavez Jr has got an iron chin an excellent body work and has legit power in both hands I simply don't think that Canelo is ready for this scenario , Chavez jr is going to Tko the red man in the late round.

Chavez might as well sit on a toilet and let his potential go again.

Chavez has no potential and Chavez has no career. This burro cheap tequila scrap with Canelo is a meaningless fight of zero importance to boxing but nice for the Mex's who have little to cheer for or live for that matter. OLE' Si'

        Steve Pevee,

Really? That is what you have to say on this forum topic?
Man, I don't know if it is sad or amusing (maybe both), to see how ignorant some gringos can be. I have met many decent persons from the United States, but you clearly belong to that very basic, elemental, very low IQ large part of the population.

I know that much of your " culture" and knowledge of the world come from Hollywood and your very ****** TV shows, and that even this gets fuzzier by your enormous drug consumption, but it is still surprising to see how much you resemble zombies now that your " brain" has been manipulated by the people that rule you.

At least we have traditions, a name for our country ( we don' t have to steal the continent's), a centuries long culture, much more sophisticated that anything you have, a family oriented society, and a heterogeneous, rich country that we know is starting to live up to it's potential, even with the continuous interference that our neighbor tries to impose on us.

Again, people like you are sad and amusing.

I'm worried about the weight-drain, but encouraged that Chavez is working with Memo and Nacho. It seems like he's really taking this fight seriously. War Chavez!

Are you a low life? Are you a troll? Are you white? Are you a simpleton? Something tells me all four. If I'm right please respond below since you obviously have nothing better to do.

Predictable fight. But two huge names. Not a great fight.

Early rounds: Chavez won't let his hands go. Canelo racks up round after round.

Middle rounds: Chavez starts throwing punches, starts eating body shots

Late rounds: Chavez is either stopped or lets himself slide into UD loss.

                  I have a better prediction.

Rounds 1 - 11: Chavez eats feint uppercuts all night long as he refuses to throw.

Round 12: Kenny Bayless is like....
