The replay in same time slot out did klitchko previous fight. But the afternoon live ratings fell big time going from fury fight on HBO to Showtime.

um a live fight on saturday early evening dumbass..... This is not mexico where people stay home all day.... American like to spend money and go out on saturday.... Also with 8 million few homes that hbo showtime only last by barely 2 hundred thousand? Wow!! Hbo is dying.... Hbo should be doing 1.5 million in primetime at 10 pm.... I have both, and truthfully I think Showtime has the better shows right now. I prefer Homeland, Billions, and Ray Donovan over anything HBO has had since Boardwalk Empire.....

Showtime showed the fight at a very inconvenient time. Thankfully, Showtime does everything possible to make things convenient for boxing fans. So those of us on the road or out were able to watch the fight on Showtime Anytime on our tablets, laptops, phones, etc. I personally watched the entire broadcast on a tablet while being driven to a festival I was performing at.

These viewers watching on Showtime Anytime are not counted towards the Nielson total, even though they are Showtime subscribers watching live. Showtime's number is artificially low for this reason.


Meanwhile, HBO scheduled their replay directly after the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, one of their biggest events of the year. It averaged nearly 900k viewers. Artificially propping up HBO's number.


Although people are in denial, the tide is turning. The unified heavyweight championship of the world was contested live on Showtime, not HBO. Showtime's fighter won. Showtime's fighter is 14 years younger.

Wow so the replay got more viewers?? Damn just shows what a great fight it was to have that many viewers again, and also shows that HBO still has more boxing fans. Sadly their programming for boxing sucks lately. So many shows on PPV that should have been free, they barely have any boxing after dark and just generally less and less prime time boxing.

Or Fury v. Klitschko turned a lot of people off to heavyweight boxing. That was a horrible fight. Worse than May-Pac. But May-Pac gets blamed whenever PPV numbers are low. So why not blame Fury-Klitschko for these numbers?

Because less people gave a **** about Fury-Klitchko to begin with.

Pac-Mayweather was THE ONE, it was the fight that broke into the main******. People who didn't know boxing, knew about that fight. And it was a let down.

People who don't know boxing have no fkn clue who Tyson Fury is.
