Comments Thread For: Joshua Details Strategy to Limit Klitschko's Excessive Holding

Anthony Joshua knows there will be moments Saturday when Wladimir Klitschko holds him, sometimes tighter than others. Klitschko tends to hold excessively against his most powerful opponents and Joshua's comparative inexperience aside, he undoubtedly is a dangerous puncher. To a certain extent, it'll be up to American referee David Fields to keep Klitschko from turning their heavyweight title fight Saturday into a hug-fest.

That's one strategy... another is to have a referee that's got the guts to give him two warnings and take a point away from him it's that simple.

now that klitcshko is the b-side thats a least a possibilty. its too bad these cheaters are usually the a-sides and can get away with their bullsh-it since they cant box worth a damn.

Quick knockout will take care of any holding. Or he could pull a Fury and just box to a decision

The ref should deal with it.

But even if he can't klitschko is going to have serious issues wrestling a young man as big and strong as joshua, this isn't an overwieght midget here.

Joshua is ineffective in the trench, we've seen it time and again. If he tries that against Grabomir, he will gas and he will lose the fight by round 10.

His ONLY hope is to stick with his strength - fighting at range, look for opportunities to nail a good shot. He relies on his range for his power and needs to keep with that. If Grabomir tries to come in, time an uppercut to the body.

Beyond that, it's up to the ref.

If it goes to a decision, this will be the common post "Hearn made sure the judges protected his cash cow." Or "K2 paid the referee." They'll be endless moronic posts if nobody is knocked out, just sit back and watch.

If Vlad sparks the chin of AJ a few times, we may see Joshua lose that "0". I'm not sure he's ever taken a champion hit from a world class boxer. Definitely a litmus test for the Brit.
