Luke Campbell has vowed to rebuild trainer Jorge Rubio's reputation in the United Kingdom as he prepares for the toughest test of his career against Darleys Perez. The Olympic gold medallist meets the Colombian on the undercard of Anthony Joshua's world heavyweight title fight with Wladimir Klitschko as he strives to reach the same level as his London 2012 team-mate.

Amir Khan always blames something or somebody for all of his losses; weight ,lucky punchers, taking somebody too lightly even a 'man in the hat'. Rubio is a no exception he just happened to be in the idiots corner .

He deserves the blame, i distinctly remember Amir's style and stance completely changed for that fight which resulted in him getting sparked.
        The paper chin also helped

Amir 'I just got caught' Khan.

I like Khan but the just got caught excuse is ridiculous. Since the very aim of Boxing is to punch someone to incapacitate them.

I mean fair enough if Tiger Woods was winning the open on the 18th and out of nowhere Breidis 'feckin' Prescott runs onto the the green and puts him out with a looping right hand. Maybe Tiger could use that as an excuse because that shouldn't happen in golf!

Even Mayweather got hit on the chin ffs.

Rubio was the man that suggested Prescott as an opponent for Khan

Yeah, i don't think Rubio's training methods or style were blamed. It was because Rubio suggested to Khan's team and Warren to fight Prescott and it backfired.

At the end of the day though, Warren was the promoter at the time and if the choice of opponent is to blame, then the blame lies with him and Khan's team for taking up the suggestion and letting a trainer decide the opponent when it's not his job.

It was funny though, i remember at the time there was some conspiracy theory amongst Khan fans that Rubio was in on it with Prescott knowing he would knock Khan out haha.

Khan ALWAYS has an excuse, remember 'the man in the hat' against Peterson?

                  It's pathetic and narcissistic.

                    Wise Words

"Boxers can make a coach, and a lot of other boxers will fall into the hype of going with that coach, just because he was successful with one fighter. Maybe it was the fighter who made that coach, not the other way around"

Wise words indeed. The perfect example of this is Virgil Hunter. He has had 0 success with other fighters, just last weekend his fighter got stopped, Khan got stopped by Canelo, on and on. Hunter was just lucky Ward walked into his gym as he added nothing to Ward's style. He is an overrated joke, but he thinks he is a boxing trainer/philosopher.
