WBC hasn't made wilder fight a mandatory and he's been the belt holder since January 2015. Ortiz can't beat Joshua but he can beat wilder. But again WBC doesn't make wilder fight real fighters.

    Take the step aside money

Take the money which would be nice. Fight an interim then get really paid in heavyweight fight in England. No matter outcome you are set. It's the wisest move to make.

Ortiz looked like a killer when he was juiced up. Since then, not so much. Smart move by Ortiz to wait for Joshua or Wlad, it doesn't matter. Ortiz could very easily lose to some "opponent." He roided up, ko'd some people, and that landed him a title shot. Why the hell wouldn't you cheat? He never would have made half the money he did without juicing.

This would be a nice stay busy fight for Joshua. Ortiz is not that great but the defensive style would be good for AJ to tune up for a fight with the real HW king Tyson Fury.

Hearn already found ortiz weakness. He started having him tested and suddenly dave allen was able to give him a fight.

Give the man his shot already!!!

If a Breazeale , Gerald Washington, Chris Arreola , Artur Szpilka etc can get a shot at the title why not Ortiz.

    I wonder why!!!!

Ortiz deserves the title shot against Joshua, but I understand why the WBA would wan't to punish Ortiz since they caught him juicing. I think Hearn will push that agenda onto the WBA and this permit will be granted.

Beating Wlad won't make Joshua the #1 heavyweight but if he can spank Wilder, Parker, and Ortiz he definitely has the claim to the spot

Between the IBF and WBA, their both forcing mandatories.

Joshua may need to drop one of these belts eventually. He should drop the WBA belt if he wins Saturday. I mean try to work something out, but if not drop the belt.

Defend against Pulev in the summer to ensure they don't strip that belt and then get the fight with Deontay Wilder made.

The sport of boxing and all the fans deserve to see Joshua-Wilder with both guys undefeated and unifying titles.

Whoever wins from Joshua-Wilder then can fight Ortiz.

But the biggest and best fight to be made in the Heavyweight division is Joshua-Wilder. And we deserve to see that fight ASAP.
