Comments Thread For: Photos: Shawn Porter Drops, Mauls Andre Berto For TKO Win

Berto vs. Porter Fight Photos Gallery - Shawn Porter didn't live up to his nickname, Showtime. What mattered to Porter, though, was that he earned another title shot at Keith Thurman. Porter stopped Andre Berto in the ninth round of a sloppy, often inartistic WBC welterweight elimination bout Saturday night at Barclays Center. Porter was in control for much of the bout, which resembled a street brawl more than a prize fight. There was some wrestling, lots of clutching, even a near chop-block, and lots of blood, mainly from head butts.

Porter simply beat the hell out of a bewildered confused Berto

Short Porter gives great effort every time in the ring. What great effort and drive Porter shows. I have to give credit to Porter for being a competitor and a warrior with courage and heart. Granted Berto lacks heart but Porter simply beat the hell out of Berto. Boxing needs kids like Porter and his dad.

If misbehaving crude Adrian ****** Broner had a Daddy like Kenny Porter then Broner would be respected and admired and not laughed at and poked in fun. Broner got that parade float helium filled round 500lb Daddy who mooches and gives zero guidance to misguided Broner. The Porter's are just a role model of what a boxer should be like with his dad involved.
Parenting and guidance and family love is so important to these untamed ****** kids.

Mauling is the correct phrase for what happened there. Not much boxing coming out of Porter.

Porter should go fight in the UFC. He'd fit in well there.

Armstrong was pretty "crude" too but he got the job done. It's not always a boxing match it can be a "fight"!
People forget that Shawn fought at 165lbs in the open class against guys like Danny Jacobs, Dominic Wade and Emilio Correra. At 5'7" 165lbs he had to fight ugly to get in and cause damage and disrupt timing as much as possible.
Fans here forget that disrupting timing can't always be "on the move and boxing" sometimes it's get pressure and get ugly!
Boxing has always been use what you got!

Porter made it a nasty, ugly, shitshow in order to win. Good for him. He may not possess great skill but he boxed enough and wouldn't allow Berto to get any breathing room.

Both guys grabbed and led with their heads. Berto is just well beyond his best and couldn't get comfortable because of the immense pressure.

Berto has bad balance and a low boxing IQ
