The World Boxing Association Championships Committee ordered a mandatory fight the minimumweight world champion Thammanoon Niyomtrong AKA Knockout CP Freshmart from Thailand and number one rated contender Rey Loreto from Philippines. According to this resolution, rule 11, it states that every champion must defend his title every 9 months. In the case, Niyontrong made his last mandatory defense on June 29, 2016 and his mandatory defense period has been overdue since March 28, 2017.

hmm...what I don't understand is how Loreto is still ranked at straw-weight when he has been competing at light-flyweight and was coming close to a mandatory position for the WBC 108 title vs. G. Lopez? in addition off the record I don't see Rey making 105 in years....but hes is ranked #1. doe ; so if he loses at straw-weight vs. CP-Freshmart does that affect his ranking at 108? HUH!?
