Comments Thread For: Burns: Indongo Was A lot Better Than We Thought, Hits Hard

GLASGOW, Scotland - Namibia's Julius Indongo captured the WBA super-lightweight title by beating Scottish fighter Ricky Burns on points Saturday in just his second professional bout outside his home country. Burns, a three-weight world champion, was on the defensive for much of the night against Indongo, who improved his record to 22-0.

Burns suggesting he's going to have another title run is a bit worrying. I can't see where he goes from here, but Indongo vs Crawford should be a good one.

He'll probably be sacrificed to one of the domestic up-n-comers around 135-140

A lot better than I was expecting. I backed Burns to win, but great win for Indongo. I don't think he has the balance to trouble Crawford, I get that he fights with his lead hand Low, but he over reaches at times and is open for counters.

I'd like to know what Burns thinks of a Crawford - Indongo matchup

Just watched the fight. DAMN!!! Burns was totally dominated from the opening bell! Ondongo is very awkward, but I think Crawford will time him coming in, and then it's a wrap! Crawford is fighting the perfect opponent. It takes mental toughness to beat Diaz, and it will be the same if fights Indongo! Burns is trash!

Unfair. Burns took 3 rounds of Crawford which is more than Postol did. Burns is just at the end of the road (nearly 50 fights). Remember he started at super feather and beat some decent names along the way. He's always carried himself with class and of course he's not a highly skilled fighter, but he's hard as nails and as a boxing fan you should respect a fighter's toughness, courage and, in Ricky's case especially, his incredible dedication to the sport.

OK, I apologize. Other than a controversial draw with Beltran, and losses to Crawford, Zlaticanin, Omar Figueroa Jr., and Julius Indongo, Burns is pretty solid!

Beat Rocky Martinez at 130 for a strap and the Figueroa fight was real close. Never been stopped in 48 fights. Not too shabby. The bread and butter of boxing
