LAS VEGAS - The hottest ticket in town is for the sold-out Canelo vs. Chavez, Jr. mega fight that is set for Saturday, May 6 at T-Mobile Arena. Due to the demand of closed circuit telecast tickets, additional locations have been added for the Cinco de Mayo weekend showdown between two-division world champion Canelo Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs) and former WBC World Middleweight Champion Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. (50-2-1, 32 KOs).

The most I see this fight doing in ppv buys is about 850,000

I'm guessing anywhere between 700,000 up to 850,000 ppv buys

I doubt this fight does more than Cotto-Canelo in terms of ppv buys.

Outside of the Mexican fan base I don't see a whole lot of people buying this. With streaming online and different outlets these days. I seriously doubt it will do more than Cotto-Canelo, it may come close to that but I doubt it will do more.

I remember arguing with idiots here that said Golden Boy was pricing the closed circuit tickets too high. That nobody would pay 75 bucks for it. Well clearly the fight sold out, now they sold so many closed circuit tickets that they need more locations so they can sell more. There is a high demand for this fight only an idiot would still deny it.

Already sold more tickets and guaranteed to generate a higher live gate then canelo/cotto did. People need to remember you had roc nation rookies involved fumbling the promotion and leaving money on the table because of it. Now just golden boy who know what they doing and allowed to handle this without interference from roc nation, this is on a Mexican holiday where as cotto fight was not. This is at T-mobile better venue, also more time spent on the ground in Vegas to promote this. That's why tickets sold more and faster the cotto, and why so many closed circuit tix sold compared to cotto. We will see how this translates to PPVs. But they are ALREADY ahead of benchmarks compared to cotto fight. More consumer money has been spent in vegas to watch this fight then cotto fight.
