Oscar De La Hoya hadn't heard or read before a conference call Tuesday that Gennady Golovkin is unlikely to fight Billy Joe Saunders on June 10 in Kazakhstan. Canelo Alvarez's promoter considers that news encouraging as it relates to making an Alvarez-Golovkin fight for September 16. De La Hoya wouldn't say much else, however, about Golovkin skipping the Saunders fight and how that move might impact ongoing negotiations for Alvarez-Golovkin.

The biggest benefit to not doing Saunders is potentially getting the Canelo fight.

So why would you cancel Saunders but not even tell Oscar about it? You wouldn't.

If Canelo's promoter didn't even know about it, that just indicates the first report is probably wrong.

They paid their fee to avoid the WBO mandatory, therefore you'd assume the LLL vs BJS is a go injury or not as planned... one could only imagine Warrenw would hate to deal with Loeffler ever again. We all know Warren can be straight forwards or heated.

I think the Jacobs fight didn't do the numbers they thought it would do and they can't afford to pay BJS what they agreed to
