What an unsatisfactory ending.

I had Williams up something like 6-3. He looked good in there and wasn't letting Smith get close. Smith looked sloppy and slow.
I do think Williams was tiring there though, while Smith sensed it and came on. It would of been an interesting final few rounds i thought, if not for the head clash.

Hopefully there's a rematch.

Liam Smith missing weight wasn't an accident. He didn't want to win the interim belt as it would have tied him into an automatic one year extension with Frank Warren and apparently he's off signing with Eddie Hearn and Sky. So he missed the weight on purpose so he couldn't win the belt. This is why Joe Gallagher said in the corner during one of the rounds "They don't want you to win" and why Frank Warren looked so píssed off.

Now Smith will go over to Sky and not bother with Williams.

absolutely shocking that the doctor didnt stop it in the corner so that it went to the cards, williams, the rightful winner would have then won. Utterly abysmal, and the commentary was very pro smith, missing calling williams good work, waiting for random crappy missed punches from smith and calling it good inside work. williams was jabbing well, and getting inside with uppercuts and back hands.

again though, gary lockett or ref should have called the doctor over during the break, so that it went to the cards. I'd be fking fuming if i was williams
