Comments Thread For: Lomachenko Wants to Fight at Least Three Times This Year

A pair of impressive performances against former world champions made Vasyl Lomachenko a "Fighter of the Year" candidate for 2016. Lomachenko was pleased with what he accomplished last year, when he knocked out Rocky Martinez with a vicious combination to win the WBO world super featherweight championship and made then-undefeated Nicholas Walters quit in first title defense. But if 2017 is to become an even better year for him, the Ukrainian southpaw feels he'll have to fight more than twice.

Lomachenko has a great attitude. A rematch with Gary Russell Jr. and Leo Sana Cruz at 130 lbs followed by fights with Gervonta Davis and Mikey Garcia at 135 lbs this year would be nice.

Lomachenko really has no one to fight at 130 anymore for a blockbuster fight. The steroid head there would have been a good fight, but he's afraid now with better testing and having to actually make weight or Loma walks away and he pays a fine.

Would love to see him up at 135, this guy is a superstar and rare talent. The rematch with Salido would have cool but I think Loma destroys Salido now. Garcia fight is looming.

Miura? Berchelt? Davis? There are some decent fights to be made.

You are right, he can only fight Davis who is coming from a breakthrough win against Pedraza and now is about to fight in England, or Berchelt who is coming of a breakthrough win by himself, or Corrales who just beat the man in the division, twice.
Wait, i think he can actually face some names at 130.
