Comments Thread For: Marco Huck Makes No Excuses: Briedis Was Simply Good

DORTMUND, Germany - Mairis Briedis of Latvia defeated Marco Huck by unanimous decision to take the WBC cruiserweight title and the German's IBO belt on Saturday. The judges scored it 116-111, 117-110, 118-109 in favor of the undefeated Briedis, who didn't look troubled at any stage of the one-sided bout. Briedis looked fitter, sharper and more precise, using his jab to good effect and leaving Huck on the back foot.

Huck always loses against Top 10 Cruiserweights : Cunningham,Glowacki,Briedis. Actually he got a gift decision against Lebedev because he lost that fight aswell.

Huck considers to move up to Heavyweight. "Title run at Heavyweight is easier" http://www.rtl.de/cms/huck-kaempferi...r-4109471.html

Huck should retire. You've had a good career, hang them up champ!

That's kinda the point though ain't it? Until last night no-one was really sure whether Breidis belonged in the top end of the mix at cruiser. Sure he looked the part, but until he beat someone like Huck you just couldn't be sure. Like to see Breidis vs Lebedev, Glowacki or Bellew (if he decides to come back from his HW excursion). I think Usyk is too skilled for him and Gassiev simply to strong though.

Briedis beats Glowacki,Bellew,Kudryashov and Lebedev. But most likely loses to Usyk and Gassiev.

Yes I am not even sure that Huck fights one more time for a World Cruiserweight title after 2 defeats in his last 4 fights. There are decent Cruiserweights out there like Kudryashov and Dorticos who would beat Huck in a World title Eliminator. So either retire or moving up to Heavyweight are options for Huck.

Briedis looked a bit wild and less than cultured at times and I'm thinking a Bellew fight might not be the 3 round ko job I thought it would be. Any spark that Huck had has gone. He needs to get the eye of the tiger back or accept that he's going to lose more often than he wins.

Huck cant compete on elite level anymore. He loses to any current World Champ and World title challengers like Kudryashov and Dorticos.

Huckic hasn't been the same since he moved up to heavyweight and was unlucky not to get the title of Sasha.
