Comments Thread For: Showtime, HBO Still in Running to Air Joshua-Klitschko in U.S.

NEW YORK Stephen Espinoza would've loved to have been able to tell reporters Thursday that Showtime has secured the U.S. television rights to air the Anthony Joshua-Wladimir Klitschko heavyweight championship showdown. The Showtime executive still hasn't been told by promoters of that April 29 fight, though, if Showtime or HBO has been chosen as the American television partner for that huge event.

A massive L for showtime and KO win by HBO if they get to air a showtime signed fighter.

I was just talking about this yesterday. They need to hurry up and figure it out. For me I would prefer the HBO broadcast. But in any event, they need to just agree on a deal already.

It doesn't matter who shows it.

Motorcity Cobra posted a week ago that Showtime was showing the fight, I had to assume that HBO would end up getting the replay. Otherwise how could HBO give up the live airing of the fight and then share the replay with Showtime? That would be a highway robbery.

HBO has no use for Klitschko. But they want a piece of Anthony Joshua and they're using their association with Klitschko to get a piece of this fight.

Ah well.. HBO aired Wlad-Fury and got over 1 million viewers tuning in and at 5pm est.. HBO doesn't care for Joshua, he isn't a Hbo fighter so they've got good business out of Wlad for so long even without an exclusive fight contract..

Oh and Showtime isn't airing it yet.. as we are still reading the article the tv rights isn't there with either guys yet

I can't explain it, but I just think Klitschko is going to put this guy out.

Max Kellerman is horrible. Another *** with a media job because he's a ***.

I actually like the Showtime team now because HBO is pretty much just Lampley with Roy Jones and Max Kellerman kissing his ass and comparing everything to another sport through analogy.
