Comments Thread For: Hearn: Eubank Contacted Me For Bellew Catch-Weight Fight!

In one of the stranger occurrences in recent weeks, IBO super middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr. (24-1, 19 KOs) actually called out Tony Bellew (29-2-1, 19 KOs), who holds the WBC cruiserweight title and last fought at heavyweight.

To be honest, Chris Eubank, Jr. would have a chance of knocking Tony Bellew out. The manner of his win over David Haye did more harm than good for him.

Why not? Eubank already weighed 168. Bellew used to fight at 175. Have him come back down to 180, Eubank put on 5 pounds of muscle, and it's only a 5 pound difference on weigh-in day. And Eubank has the speed advantage to compensate for that. Why not?

Ha ha ha. Dude hasn't made 175 since his 31st Birthday and he struggled like hell to Squeeze his 6'3" frame down to it then. Dude's not going below the 200Lb limit any more and would be ****** to ... especially for yapping dog Chris who's done precisely fuck all with his career to date.

Pretty much this, Tony has been fighting at 200lbs+ and is comfortable at that weight, Jr is at 168.

Bellew is 4 inches taller and the weight difference is too large.

Realistically Eubank would need to be fighting at about 20lbs heavier and Bellew would need to be fighting at 10lbs lighter at the same time for a similar weight.

The catchweight the Eubanks mentioned is 15 stone, or 210 lb.

Haha no. Eubank has no power. He hit Blackwell with thousands of punches and it still took a doctor to put him in a coma.
