Good performance by Linares but not sure beating Crolla proves much at the top level. I could still see Linares getting KO'd in 2 rounds against Mikey, for example. Or not! I'm not saying that will definitely happen, because if Linares can hide the chin for 12 rounds he will win, but I'm just saying I'm not sure hiding it for 12 rounds against a slow, flat footed guy like Crolla proves anything about his ability to do it at the top level. We'll see though. It's a great warm-up fight before the winner fights Loma.

Linares is probably only 70% of his prime, he is way too injury prone and old. Unfortunately for such a classic technician, his body couldn't hold up.

The fight against Mikey is just a retirement package - he can't go 12 rounds against a young A+ fighter... unfortunately.
