Comments Thread For: Mikey Garcia Will Go To 140 in 2018, Unless Lomachenko Comes

WBC lightweight champion Mikey Garcia (36-0, 30 KOs) is hoping to have a unification fight or two in 2017, before an eventual move to 140-pounds in early 2018. Garcia is willing to delay his move to junior welterweight - if WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (7-1, 5 KOs) comes up to 135-pounds to fight him in the near future.

The Linares-Crolla and flanagan-petrov winners are both great options for mikey. however, robert easter jr is another titlist, is available, and is managed by haymon as well so hopefully he is also an option.

So either Loma or Crawford. Mikey is about that life.

This Would Be An Interesting Fight But I Expect Garcia To Face Linares Then Flanagan and Easter last then move up if Lomachenko don't but this Linares Fight Will Be Good This Weekend

Arum says he wants that fight but I doubt it. I don't think Arum wants that work for his fighter from a former fighter of his. Loma would take the fight, but Arum wouldn't. Hope he proves me wrong through.

Hopefully sooner than later! I believe Mikey should be at 140 right now but oh well! I think Mikey will move up when Crawford moves up to 147 even though he's looking to move in early 2018. I think Mikey's decision depends on what Crawford does.

I hope Garcia vs. Lomachenko happens! That's huge! However, Hey Mikey, can Robert Easter Jr. get some love if the winner of Linares vs. Crolla "don't want that work?" I'm just sayin'!

Got a feeling Arum would target Flanagan first for the WBO trinket before Garcia. Not sure how long it will take Loma to go to 135 either, he only weighed a pound more on fight night vs Walters than he did on fight night vs Salido - a jump to 135 would need him to be putting a lot more weight on, and he'll take his time to make sure it goes on correctly.
