Should Gennady "Gift" Golovkin give Jacobs a rematch instead of going after Canelo?

Oh, we disagree about the decisions? What am insightful post.

No reason for a June fight when he has bigger fight on table 15m and the A side says you sign in June we giving the payday to someone else in sept.
Huh Jacobs was literally running and blowing hard in the last couple of rounds. His face looked like he got jumped in an alley of Brownsville. There are no locks that he schools GGG in a rematch.

Taking out your frustrations? Close fight like Ward Kov but I don't see saying anything

Ah, no, I'm just pointing out hypocrisy when Ward-Kov and GGG-Jacobs ended in the same way. A close fight with a knockdown from the champ who also out landed the challenger.

Please tell me you've been drinking. I never said the only difference was that one had a legal clause.

Would Jacobs give GGG an imediate rematch if he won? I doubt it.

Lets be fair here, Golovkin went a little out of his way to make the fight happen in the first place (months of negotiations and missing a december date). He gave up extra money and weight and had it staged in Jacobs home city.

This is the EXACT reason why CONela wants weight and money in his favour, pulling the A side tactics. When you are on the same level as your opponent, any little advantage helps (why peds exist and jacobs looked like a smw).

In saying that, i am definately not against a rematch but it wasn't the most exciting fight to warrant one imo.

Of course he should. He was quite fortuitous with the decision.

there's no reason to delay golovkin-canelo any longer

he can always rematch jacobs or fight whoever else at mw afterwards but this is our last chance to see a near-prime golovkin vs a prime canelo. If they screw around anymore it's gonna be another disappointing saga that happens too little, too late.

Anyway, yeah he should give him a rematch. After Canelo-Golovkin though. There was no rematch clause and Golovkin has bigger fish to fry. Ward doesn't.
                    Basically this. Good post.

If GGG takes ANY fight other then a Jacobs rematch to prevents a canelo/GGG showdown in sept he deserves to be tar and feathered. Fans can excuse Jacobs rematch next because many feel he lost. Fans might be upset but will understand going directly into canelo fight because of the money and public demand. But if he pulls a bytch move and fight Saunders or some bum in June he will look like a coward and will lose the canelo sept date to boot. Canelo or Jacobs that's his only options next. With that performance Saunders is off the table won't fly with fans. Would be viewed as a rod salka move.
