Comments Thread For: Gennady Golovkin-Daniel Jacobs: Pre-Fight Report Card

There may be a semantic argument for a certain prominent red headed battler as history's middleweight champion, but for most of the sport's followers the man at middleweight will be decided Saturday night at Madison Square Garden.

I'd give Golovkin B- on Defense and an A on Power, Jacobs A+ on Power.

From him missing the second IBF weigh-in shows he's looking to stack up as much weight as he can, looking for that one big shot to hurt GGG.

Will it work? I believe GGG is going to be more careful in this fight than in all the other previous ones combined.

      GGG TKO Round 7

I guess those are the same 4 who picked Curtis Stevens.

While I favor Golovkin in this match-up make no mistake about it this is a dangerous fight for him. Jacobs has a few unknowns and the biggest one being his chin. If he can survive Golovkins power early he punches hard enough to win this if he can connect with more than one power shot at a time. It's going to be a great fight and I expect one or the other will be left standing in 7 rounds or less.

A- for hand speed is pretty fast, are you sure Jacobs is an A- in hand speed Cliff? In the Quillin fight he was loading up quite a lot. If he does that against GGG, he could get countered with something hard. I def wasn't seeing A- hand speed there, but he does have all the power he gets credit for.
