  • Comments Thread For: Eleider Alvarez Steps Aside to Allow Stevenson-Monaghan 4/29

Promoter Yvon Michel confirmed to BoxingScene.com on Wednesday that light heavyweight contender Eleider Alvarez has entered a step-aside agreement with Adonis Stevenson. By accepting an undisclosed sum of money from Michel, whose company promotes Alvarez and Stevenson, Alvarez allowed Michel to negotiate with promoter Lou DiBella for Stevenson's optional defense of the WBC 175-pound championship against Sean Monaghan. Stevenson (28-1, 23 KOs), who would be an overwhelming favorite against Monaghan, is expected to defend his title against Monaghan on April 29 at the newly renovated Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.

alvarez is smart..he just fought 2 weeks ago maybe..he knew he wasnt getting in the ring in april, but he still got money out of the deal...and he'll still get his shot at a more convient time for himself...THIS SUMMER BASICALLY.

now if alvarez sets up another fight im going to wonder just wtf is he doing..u cant keep accept step aside deals forever..

I see you got a new excuse going. First it was that Smith wanted ALL THE money which I proved wrong now you're running with some other bull****. Pfffttt you're a joke just like your idol.

Can't wait till Stevenson is out of boxing and hopefully he gets taken on in KO fashion.

EDIT: Can't forget your original excuse though, "Who can promote in NY?"

Every other article about Stevenson you got a new excuse cooking.
