It amazes me while Golovkin keeps winning and Canelo has done everything to avoid fighting him including gifting his middleweight title to him and moving down in weight to fight cherry picked smaller guys his handlers now talk like they have control. I realize it comes down to money and Canelo the chicken hawk seems to have the following he doesn't deserve a middleweight title shot while other real middleweights fight in the division and get passed over. He should fight and beat a few real active middleweights before given a shot. To much media and not enough real fighting

Best post I have read in a long time. A lot of the posters think they are financial wizards. Perhaps they should go to the financial wizard site and let the boxing aficionados focus on boxing. Again, great post!

If that's not his next fight, it'll never happen. GGG has maybe 2 years left at that level at that age. Golden Boy knows what they've been doing with trying to wait him out. You can't blame them. I think Canelo wants the fight, but they probably spin it to him differently in putting it off.

most of us should agree on this, but genady really wants that canelo money... jorge heiland for example, the guy has been waiting for his title shot for ever... tureano jhonson just to name a few, not saying they are better fighters but they earned their shot on a mediocre division, so it is what it is...

I mean, can we decide now if he's good or not. After the fight if he loses I'm sure he'll be labelled a bum. If he wins, GGG was vastly overrated. So how about those with strong opinions get them on the table now. How good is Jacobs?
People tend to underestimate him, but Jacobs is a top notch fighter. He is a dedicated young man who has overcome a lot to be where he is. Part of the problem in figuring out who is world class and who is not is that boxing has all but disappeared from the scene. Top fighters only fight once or twice a year with the goal of being undefeated. That is not the same as having a goal of being great. Jacobs deserves a lot of respect going into the fight with Golovkin. Would any of these guys hold their own with Hagler, Ray Robinson, or Carlos Monzon? Doubtful but we will never know.

yes GGG has only 2 years left...

That's why Bhop is legendary still fighting in his late 40s...

Whenever fans say that Golovkin ONLY HAS x years left yet Big George beat undefeated Moorer at the age of 45... I mean only PROVES why Golovkin is a hype job.

Maybe they both get KO'd and we can say who's KO was less of a KO???
LOL. Very cool. Wit is the best tonic for the soul!

Jacobs is a good fighter...B level, but good. This was a step in the right direction for gaylovekin. However, if he loses saturday, he will be known as the biggest hype job in a very long time, so he better win...and win in style.

Btw, wasn't brook like 5 or 6 to 1? Yet Jacobs is 8 to 1? Interesting.
